RELEASE

Deep Stretch Yoga

Something hurts here, then there. One thing gets better and another starts, and you can't break the cycle. Release is a deep stretch yoga practice I've developed over the years so that you can free yourself from chronic tension. You stay in the poses for a long time and let gravity open your body. You use a block, a strap and a cushion for support. It's for all levels. It's based on yin and restorative yoga.

Until you get used to it, holding a pose for so long feels uncomfortable. You learn to accept the discomfort and manage it with your breath. Your hips, lower back, upper back and shoulders, where tension collects, slowly open. In the middle of the discomfort, you start to enjoy being still. Muscles that have been tight for years learn to relax again. The stretch reaches deep into the tissues, massages your internal organs, and regulates your circulation.

You finish with relaxation and meditation, feeling much lighter. With regular practice you become more flexible, and when you notice you're tense, you know how to relax. You step out of the cycle of pain and tension that years of stress have built up.

A true yogi who has helped me feel more balanced, peaceful and aware, whose techniques help reduce stress, calm the mind and increase inner peace, whose practices support the body in stretching and getting stronger while helping tension ease, and who passes on a sense of ease to everyone.

The yoga classes that helped me most were Ergin's. I healed. Thanks to his attention, I healed without getting injured. Many of my health problems got better or eased. Those are the effects on my body. His support for my soul and the way he passes on the teachings also helped me a lot. I became calmer, more relaxed and more at peace. I'll always be grateful and thankful to Ergin for sharing his knowledge generously and carefully. I'm so glad you came into my life, thank you so much.

Ergin Ündeğer

I studied yoga therapy at university. In thirteen years I've worked with hundreds of people and led more than thirty retreats. My travels took me from the clinics of India to the monasteries of Nepal, and from Thailand to Bali. I developed the practice you'll work with from those travels and from my experience as a teacher. More important than that, Deep Stretch Yoga is also the friend I trust most to help me let go of the tension that builds up.
