Four-Day Yoga and Meditation Program with Ergin Ündeğer

We meet on 28–31 October in the village of Tatlısu, Cyprus. We practice on the terrace of Ardıç Ağacı Holiday Village, with the sea in front of you and bougainvillea all around.

In the mornings you get your energy up with an active yoga flow, breathing practice and meditation. The middle of the day is yours. The village is quiet, so you can rest, go for a walk or swim in the sea. At sunset you come back to the terrace, and this time you relax deeply with long stretches, a deep rest lying on the floor, and meditation again. In the evening we meet again, and we talk about a healthy daily routine and yoga.

You can join even if you've never done yoga. In every class I also give easier options to suit you. I suggest how much to do, and I leave the decision to you.

If you come alone, you won't be alone for long. You share the same practice and the same conversations with people who see life the way you do.

Five Practices

Even after sleeping, you wake up tired. All day your shoulders and neck stay tight. In the late afternoon you react sharply to some small thing, and at night in bed your mind still won't be quiet. You have to push yourself to start anything. You don't know what to do, you jump from one method to another, and in the end you blame yourself. The real cause of all this is a load that has built up in your body, mind and emotions over the years.

Five Practices is a method I've developed over the years from the yoga and meditation tradition. It has five connected practices. They work on your body, your mind and your emotions as a whole. Over the four days you practice all five, and you also learn why you do each one. As you practice, the load gets lighter, and by the end of the four days you feel like yourself again. As you learn why, you also see where this load comes from. You go home knowing what daily routine will clear it and stop a new load from building up.

In the Morning, You Get Your Energy Up

Dynamic Flow Yoga | AWAKEN.

Strength poses, core and back work, and stretches are all linked to the breath. As you get into the flow, the heaviness lifts and you leave your thoughts behind. The class ends with relaxation and meditation, and you leave with energy that lasts all day.

Yogic Breathwork | TUNE.

You use techniques that slow your breath, deepen it and change its rhythm. As your breath calms, your nerves calm with it, and you feel the difference in your first class. You leave the class calm but alert.

Meditation | SETTLE.

For a while you set all your roles aside and turn your attention to yourself. As you listen to your body with curiosity, sensations begin to appear. These sensations bring stories to your mind and stir up emotions. As you meet them with compassion, they calm down. You make peace with your sensations and go on with your day.

In the Evening, You Rest

Deep Stretch Yoga | RELEASE.

You stay in the poses for a long time and let gravity open your body. Your hips, lower back, upper back and shoulders, where tension collects, slowly open. Muscles that have been tight for years learn to relax again, and you finish the class feeling much lighter.

Dream Yoga | DREAM.

You lie on the floor and listen to my voice. You don't need any meditation experience. At the edge between sleep and waking you stay aware, and you go down into a deep relaxation that ordinary sleep doesn't give you. This one hour renews you in a way that hours of sleep don't.

I really enjoyed coming to the yoga classes. Everyone was very friendly and warm with each other. Even though it was my first time doing yoga, I wasn't nervous at all, because our teacher guided me very well. Now I love yoga and I want to keep going. Yoga has become a part of my life.

Ece Dinçkul, student, Istanbul

I've been practicing with Ergin for about 5 years. I can say that practicing with Ergin filled the gaps I felt in my earlier yoga experiences. Practicing yoga with a clear system and toward a holistic goal is very good for me every time, both physically and spiritually. Because I notice that my body and my mind both benefit from the practice, I enjoy it a lot every time.

Testimonials

Ergin Ündeğer

I studied yoga therapy at university. In thirteen years I've worked with hundreds of people and led more than thirty programs. My travels took me from the clinics of India to the monasteries of Nepal, and from Thailand to Bali. I built the method you'll work with from those travels and from my experience as a teacher. More important than that, these five practices are also the friends I trust most to keep me healthy.
